The calculation behind the reading
Astronoir calculates your birth chart using Swiss Ephemeris — the same mathematical engine that powers Astrodienst (astro.com) and that professional astrologers have used for over 40 years. No estimation. No interpolation. Exact planetary positions based on your birth date, time, and location.
The chart is read through one primary analytical framework — Hellenistic — with two secondary layers that surface additional dimensions of the same data. The framework lead determines diagnostic authority; the secondary layers provide cross-framework context, not parallel diagnoses.
Whole Sign houses. Seven classical planets. Essential dignities, sect, planetary joys, kataché, mutual receptions, Lot of Fortune and Lot of Spirit, annual profections.
Placidus houses, outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), Chiron as positional data. Used as cross-framework context to the Hellenistic anchor — not as a separate psychological framework.
Bailey Ray attributions per sign and soul/personality rulership lookup from a static matrix. Used in the Evolutionary domain only, firewalled from the other four.
What the engine computes
- Essential dignities: domicile, exaltation, triplicity (Dorothean day/night scheme — two-ruler, no participating), detriment, fall. Bounds and decans are not used in the current version.
- Sect: diurnal/nocturnal determination, sect light, in-sect / out-of-sect classification for malefics.
- Maltreatment conditions: kataché (superior square overcoming by Mars or Saturn), combust (≤8.5° from Sun), under sun beams (8.5°–15°), retrograde, planetary joy, aversion to Ascendant.
- Hermetic lots: Lot of Fortune and Lot of Spirit (day/night formulas per Tetrabiblos II.10). Additional lots — Eros, Necessity, Courage, Victory, Nemesis — are not computed.
- Chart authorities: Kurios (lead organizing planet by dignity score, angularity, and proximity to the Ascendant) and Oikodespotes (domicile ruler of the sect light’s sign).
- Pattern detection: stellia, T-squares and grand crosses, mutual receptions (including mixed rulership and configurations with a debilitated member), sign-based aversions, besiegement (Mars + Saturn → apex receiver with directional verification), kataché direction tracking, Mercury bridges between domains, dignified conjunctions in their own houses.
- Timing: annual profection — active house, active sign, time lord per year of life (Valens, Anthologies II.3). Zodiacal releasing, firdaria, decennials, transits, secondary progressions, and solar returns are not computed.
What the engine does not compute
- Cazimi (planet ≤17′ from Sun)
- Bounds ruler and decan/face ruler (no per-degree lookup tables)
- Antiscia, midpoints, harmonics
- Lots beyond Fortune and Spirit
- Hellenistic timing techniques beyond annual profection
- Solar returns, lunar returns, progressions, transits
- Synastry, composite charts, horary, electional
- Asteroids (Vesta, Pallas, Juno, Ceres, Lilith)
- Jungian or evolutionary-astrology archetypal layer
- Hierarchical Bailey rulerships, Vulcan as a calculated position
Each domain section in the dossier is built by extracting the relevant structured facts (anchor planet, dignities, aspect verdicts, required pattern citations, directional ground truth) and passing them to a large language model that translates the structured data into prose. The model receives the facts. It does not select them.
Before the dossier is delivered, an automated audit pass verifies each section against the underlying data — checking that every dignity claim, aspect direction, sect description, kataché direction, and required pattern citation matches the calculated values. Sections that fail are rewritten or regenerated. The audit is the structural difference between Astronoir and templated automated readings: every sentence in the dossier is traceable to a calculated fact in the chart data.

The interpretation layer uses Anthropic Claude (Sonnet for the audit pass). All computational facts — positions, dignities, aspects, lots, profections — are deterministic Python; no large language model is involved in any mathematical or astrological calculation.
What's included in the dossier
The paid dossier is a structured written analysis of your birth chart delivered as a web document. It covers five domains:
Core character structure, dominant planetary conditions, the load-bearing pattern of the chart.
How you deploy energy, where friction is structural vs. situational, material leverage points.
Relational patterns derived from chart structure — not personality typing.
The nodal axis and Lot of Spirit: the directional pull of the chart over time.
Annual profection cycle: the activated house, its lord, and how the current year amplifies or challenges the chart's primary conditions.
Each domain is backed by the calculation layers described in the methodology section. Every section passes an automated audit against the underlying chart data before delivery.
What we collect and what we don't
What we collect: birth data (date, time, city), and Clerk authentication data for paid accounts (email, name as entered during signup).
What we do not do: sell, share, or use your data for advertising or third-party profiling. We do not run analytics that track individual behavior across sessions.
Birth coordinates are not retained in quality-review logs. Internal audit records use a non-reversible chart signature — a short hash of your birth parameters. Your birth date, time, and location cannot be reconstructed from this signature. It exists only so we can cross-reference quality issues without storing personally identifiable information.
Dossiers are stored in Supabase and associated with your Clerk account. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting misanh8@gmail.com.
How billing works
Each dossier is a one-time purchase — $9.99 USD per dossier. There are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or plans. You pay once and receive one complete natal analysis.
All payments are processed by Gumroad, Inc., our merchant of record. Gumroad handles billing, tax collection, and payment processing in your jurisdiction. Your card statement will show a charge from Gumroad, not Astronoir.
Prices are displayed in USD and may be converted to your local currency at checkout. Applicable taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) are calculated and collected by Gumroad based on your location.

Refund policy
The dossier is a one-time digital purchase ($9.99 USD) generated on demand. Computation and AI inference begin immediately upon payment confirmation. Because the product is created at the moment of purchase, we do not offer refunds once generation begins.
Exception: if the system fails to deliver your dossier due to a technical error on our end, and the issue cannot be resolved within 48 hours, you are entitled to a full refund. Contact misanh8@gmail.com with your order confirmation and we will process the refund promptly.
Terms of use
Astronoir is an entertainment product. The dossier is a detailed astrological analysis — computed from Swiss Ephemeris data, processed through structured frameworks, and verified before delivery. It is not medical, psychological, or financial advice, and does not substitute for professional consultation in those fields. Do not make health or financial decisions based solely on its content.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a dossier. By completing a purchase you confirm you meet this requirement.
The dossier generated for you is yours to keep and share. The Astronoir brand, website design, and underlying calculation engine remain our property. You may not reproduce or resell the Astronoir platform itself.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Astronoir’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the dossier that gave rise to the claim. Astronoir is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
